Teen Hearts, A Scam?
I know I promised I would talk about Drag down the Regime, the drag show I was in a few weeks ago, but this is more important for all of the other aspiring models to know about. Modeling Scams.
So I recently got my email saying that I've been accepted into the Teen Hearts Clothing Shop's paid modeling program. I got to make a coupon code and everything, and I was excited to work with them. I decided to see when I would be able to get the products so that I could ask my friend to do a product shoot for me. I looked online to see what other models were saying and oh my Van Hellsing, all the models were saying that it was a scam.
So what are the signs of a modeling scam?
1. They ask you to purchase a product
- the company should never ask you to buy the product, they should already have it ready for you
- most brands will ask you things about your size, height, and other types of measurements
2. Read the reviews
- the company has terrible reviews from other models that have had very negative experiences with the company
- the customer reviews are talking about how terrible the company or the product is
Honestly, this was a learning experience. I'm happy that this happened now rather than later when I'm trying to establish myself and I'm glad I could share this experience with other aspiring models to know the signs.
